After spending the last few years traversing the galaxy as the road crew for fellow Oklahomans THE FLAMING LIPS, Oklahoma City psych/prog/experimental pop quartet STARDEATH AND WHITE DWARFS are going out on their own. These four young men have gained a collective lifetime worth of knowledge and experience while inadvertently inhaling enough helium and confetti to power a free-floating circus of their own. As a result of this kind of incubated gestation, a strange yet melodically intoxicating band has emerged. After touring with bands like Deerhoof, Band odf Horses and of course, The Flaming Lips, SDWD are now sprinkling the final magic dust on their first full-length album, THE BIRTH, recorded with local Oklahoma studio whiz Trent Bell. It is scheduled to collide with earth on June 2nd.

Stardeath and White Dwarfs is an experimental rock band from Norman, Oklahoma, formed in late 2004. The band has released one album and an EP, as well as contributing to The Flaming Lips' 2009 Pink Floyd remake The Dark Side of the Moon.
The band consists of Dennis Coyne, Casey Joseph, Matt Duckworth and James Young. Lead singer Coyne is the nephew of Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne.
They released the "Stardeath and White Dwarfs" EP in 2005. They released their first full-length album, entitled The Birth, on vinyl (with digital download) on May 19, 2009 and on CD on June 9, 2009, on Warner Brothers. Also in 2009, the band contributed to The Flaming Lips' Pink Floyd remake The Dark Side of the Moon, along with Henry Rollins and Peaches.
Stardeath and White Dwarfs have toured with Deerhoof, British Sea Power, Band of Horses, Starlight Mints, Explosions in the Sky, and of course, The Flaming Lips. more >>>
